Food Closet

Effective January 4, 2014, the Food Closet will be temporarily located at Montgomery hills Baptist Church, 9727 Georgia Ave. Silver Spring, MD 20910.

Feeding the hungry members of our community is another mission of First Baptist Church. The Food Closet is open each Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 12 noon, staffed by volunteer adults and mature young people who agree to work on a team and typically serve once every four weeks. Although the Food Closet is only open on Saturday, there are ample opportunities to serve this mission throughout the week. These opportunities include;

• stocking the shelves
• picking up food donations from various schools in the county
• picking up bakery donations from Panera Bread in downtown Silver Spring every Friday evening
• assisting with pick up and unloading purchased food.
