The Discipleship Academy is an opportunity for lay persons to gain a deeper understanding of the Christian Scriptures and their application to daily living struggles. The Academy is taught by the Pastor and an Associate Pastor during three 10-weeks sessions held during the year. The Academy is held on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Montgomery Hills Baptist Church, 9727 Georgia Ave. Silver Spring, MD 20910. A continental breakfast is served to provide a more relaxed atmosphere to the in-depth discussions.
The textbook for the Academy is "The Jesus Driven Life" by Michael Hardin. During the span of the Academy, and through supplemental readings, the participants will learn how to read and interpret the Bible both through its original context and the evolution of its interpretation.
